39 Weeks & Holidays

When I was pregnant with Lucas 39 weeks was the magic number. I was induced where I had the most wicked labor that ended in a c-section.

This time?

  • I'm 1cm Dilated
  • 20% Effaced
  • He's not engaged (shocker Lucas never did)
  • I'm measuring at 41 weeks.

*I'm Exhausted*

I have braxton hicks contractions whenever I do... anything. It squeezes this ginormous baby and my lungs keeping me from being able to breathe.

I have to have a c-section because of the previous one but I've still got well over a week before they will be able to do it. I will be measuring 45 weeks for sure. This kid is going to be huge!

I'm honestly hoping my water breaks so I can get this show on the road!

We do have a date and I'm excited to have a date and time but it's too far away. We are all ready for this to be done. I miss picking up and hugging my son and chasing him around the house. I miss being able to bend over without wanting to vomit. I want to be able to walk up the stairs without gasping for air.

I will say sleep hasn't been too bad here recently. I'm up and down but overall I'm sleeping alright when I can fall asleep. My restless leg crap has calmed down a bit (I'm going to pay for saying this tonight).

As for the holidays all turned out really well. My illness cut me a break and I did not suffer much.

My dear friend Bruce, my kids' godmother, bought Lucas his first big kid bike and both were so excited about it!

It's been so cold I'm allowing him to ride the bike in the house hah (I'm an awesome mom what can I say?)

We had a great holiday so low key we didn't do anything big focused all our attention on Lucas and he's been a busy little bunny the past few days!

We took the tree down yesterday and will be taking the outdoor stuff down Saturday. It's nice to have the extra space back in our den. :)

Tom happened to be off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (minus working his second job) so it was nice to have him home. He's also off New years Eve and Day. I'm not sure if he's working the second job or not.

Lucas looks just like Tom's mom! We sure miss her!
Even if he weren't off his shift starts in the afternoon so it doesn't really make a difference for Christmas. We aren't big NYE celebrators which is good because we haven't spent one together in years!

So it'll be nice and low key here.

The blogging break was fantastic. I love reading and have been slowly catching up over the last few days. But I needed a couple of days there to lay in bed and be miserable.

Mostly because of the sinus gunk that is still lingering but overall I'm not even complaining it wasn't too bad.

What has been the best part of being laid up in bed the past few days?

Duck Dynasty and Moonshiners.

How did I live so long without knowing about these insane shows? Shyanne mentioned Duck Dynasty a few weeks ago and finally we sat down and caught a marathon.

Hooked. :)

How did you guys spend your holidays? What gifts are you enjoying the most?

  7. First of all, let me just say I really, really, super enjoyed this post. And that picture of your baby bump! I feel like it's one of the first posts since I've been following that I got to see YOU (don't get me wrong, your kid is obviously adorbs and seeing him isn't too shabby!) lol...maybe it's because your page is so bright and happy? Anyways, I love the tweaks you've made! Second of all, Duck Dynasty has invaded my own tv and I'm none too happy about it, lol. I just told my hubby what you wrote and he's like "she's obviously awesome" sigh. Why do I hate that showwww?!?!
