I felt refreshed... it didn't last long.

Sam is 6 weeks old which is mind blowing!

Things here have been interesting. We went through the growth spurt and I almost went a bit crazy. He was nursing every 1-1.5 hours for 15-20 minutes. For two days I saw every single hour. Two days!

Then last Wednesday night Tom, Sam, and I crawled into bed exhausted and fell asleep around 10:30pm. At 2:30a we woke up baffled because we had the chance to sleep more than 2 hours at a time.

I nursed and we went back to bed until 5a. Then I nursed and we went back to sleep until 9a!

I thought this was a fluke because who is lucky enough to get to sleep like that two nights in a row?

Me.

He slept like this again Thursday night as well although we were up much earlier (Lucas has school woo).

We didn't think he'd sleep at all Thursday because he slept ALL day that day. But he did.

I feel refreshed.

Human.

He even slept in his rocker for me on Friday. A whole hour in there made it amazing for me to sit down and just relax. I really love snuggling the little guy and I know I'll miss it when he's too big but the small breaks are really appreciated.

It didn't last long though we didn't make it a third night. He slept Friday night from 8:30-12:00a but from that point was up every hour to nurse.

Back to zombies we go.

Look at those adorable chubby cheeks- I can see he is working hard at growing.

  6. It's such an easy thing to forget, those frequent nighttime feedings that is... Along with child labor itself... and all the other not so pleasant aspects of motherhood, once they have passed... Isn't that the oddest?? Those little ones get you wrapped right around their finger and that immense love makes it all better and more manageable! :)
