Lucas' cardiologist appointment went well. He's got a bit of improvement which is great news but it's not enough to let him go back to school.
Lucas was amazing during the echocardiogram. I think the doctor doing it in the hospital showed him it wasn't a big deal. The first one was torture to him apparently.
Lucas really likes the doctor and is warming up to the rest of the staff.
We are still in the aneurism zone so at any time he could develop one.
We are in week 4-5 right now. I was reading Wikipedia (don't do it) and it says he could lose his fingernails!?! Totally hoping that doesn't happen because ow!
Lucas is at risk for a cardiac event or heart attack at any time up until 12 weeks then the odds of that go down tremendously. I'm hoping if he doesn't develop an aneurism this will lower the odd even more. I'm terrified to let him sleep upstairs in his room and at this point terrified to let him go to school.
We may be looking into a home schooling regimen if he can't go back in the next few weeks. He's missed out a lot and while I know it's not kindergarten he loves to learn.
One of our friend's kiddo is in Lucas' class and all the kids did get well soon cards. They brought them to us. So so sweet. Everyone has been really supportive of the situation and shown a lot of love towards my little monster. I could not have asked for better friends.
We go again this week and will probably continue until we are out of the subacute phase of the illness. Personally I'm hoping we go a lot the next few months just so we can keep our eye on it. You don't want to think your skin and bones 5 year old's heart is sick you'd never know looking at him.
Speaking if skin and bones this kid is eating like a teenager. He eats a meal then 30 minutes later is hungry again. We cannot afford his eating habits LOL.
